One Family, by Gorg Mallia

Gorg Mallia is Malta's foremost comic artist. He has been writing and drawing cartoons and comics since the late 1970's. He created a number of characters, among others, 'Il-Kaccatur', 'Il-Hakem', and 'Il-Familja Borg', about whom he has done comics and strips in various magazines and newspapers, but is best known for his satirical weekly comic strip 'One Family', in Malta's best-selling newspaper The Sunday Times. Started in 1991, it is the only regular comic strip in the Maltese islands. It has a number of recurrent characters (including the parody of a superhero, 'Sgt. Valletta') that comment poignantly on Maltese society and politics.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
