Manolo Carot is a Spanish comic artist who works under the pen name Man. Born in Mollet les Vallès near Barcelona, he began his career in 1998 making illustrations for RPG's like 'Aquelarre' and 'Superhéroes Inc', as well as Líder magazine of the publishing house La Caja de Pandora (1999-2001). He published his first comic stories for the erotic magazine Kiss Comix of Ediciones La Cúpula.

During a period of six years, he produced pornographic stories like 'Universitarias', 'Huesos y tornillos' and 'Historias incredibles', that were also collected in books in the US, Germany and the Netherlands. His erotic comic 'Alicia en el pais de nunca jamas' was published in 2008. He has also made illustrations for the Spanish edition of Playboy magazine, and covers for El Víbora.

Man has worked extensively with writer Hernán Migoya on series like 'El Hombre con Miedo' and 'Kung fu Kiyo' for La Cupúla, and on the sci-fi series 'Ari, la salvadora del universo' for Ediciones Glénat in 2006. Man's solo graphic novel 'Mia' was published in France by Dargaud in 2008. Dargaud has also published his series 'En sautant dans le vide' ('Saltando al vacío') in 2008-2009, as well as 'Le Client', the "road comic" he made with Zidrou in 2013. Carot additionally makes illustrations for educational books, storyboards, comics for the press and illustrations for magazines, and works as a teacher in comic art in his spare time.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
