Blue Bolt (Blue Bolt Comics v2#11, April 1942)

Alan Mandel was an American comic book artist, working through Funnies Inc. in the early 1940s. Mandel was an artist on Novelty's 'Blue Bolt', just like his brother George Mandel. He worked on Lev Gleason's 'Young Robin Hood', 'Thirteen' and 'Crime Does Not Pay', and illustrated the 'Dippy Diplomat' feature for Timely. By 1941 he often worked together with Dan Barry. He did art on 'Lucky Starr' for Consolidated Books, Hillman's 'Nightmare' and Eastern Color Printing's New Heroic Comics.
