Güy Manuel studied fine arts in school. Most of his comic work was made in collaboration with his brother, Sérgio Luiz. Together, they created various comics for magazines like O Papagaio, Pim Pam Pum!, Faísca, Acção Infantil and Engenhocas. Güy Manuel drew the female characters in Sérgio's comics, like the famous series 'O Boneco Rebelde'. Although his brother received most of the fame, Güy Manuel was technically a better artist, following a more classical style. Güy Manuel died a couple of months after Sérgio Luiz' early death, which led to an abrupt end of the "golden age" of the Portuguese magazine O Papagaio.
