Julia von Kleist by Bruno Marivain
Julia von Kleist

The Breton artist Bruno Marivain started his career making advertising comics. He teamed up with scriptwriter Patrick Cothias to create his first series, resulting in the thriller 'La Mémoire des Ogres' in Glénat's Bulle Noire collection (1998-2002). He subsequently created the 'Barbara Wolf' detective series with François Maingoval for the same collection between 2003 and 2005.

The artist has since focused on more historical comics in cooperation with Jean-Baptiste Djian, such as the 'Julia von Kleist' trilogy (Emmanuel Proust Editions, 2009-2011), the adaptation of Théophile Gautier's 'Le Capitaine Fracasse' (Glénat, 2010) and the installments on Sword Beach and Juno Beach in the series 'Normandie juin 44' (Vagabondages, 2012-2013).

Series and books by Bruno Marivain in stock in the Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
