D Day, by Fred Marschall

Fred Marschall studied Dutch language at the University of Amsterdam, and has worked as a freelance illustrator since 1980. While studying, he published comic stories in alternative publications like Dick Maas' magazine Formule S (1973), Stripje (1975-1976), Speedo (1977), Aloha and De Vrije Balloen. As an illustrator, he is specialized in drawings about historical subjects, which he makes for (school)books, magazines, museums and websites. Fred Marschall has also made drawings for text stories that were published in the Dutch Donald Duck weekly, and for children's books by Tais Teng.

He has worked on several projects with the writer Pieter van Oudheusden, including the short stories series 'Liefde & Verraad', that was serialized in Titanic and collected in book format by Arboris in 1990. He got a Stripschapspenning for his contribution to the educational book 'Stripwerk' in 1983. Marschall worked with the French writer Christian Godard on the World War II comic 'D Day', that was published by Glénat in 2008.
