The illustrator Raúl Martín Demingo was a comic artist at the earliest times of his career. After publishing in fanzines he contributed to Toutain magazines 1984 and Creepy for a short while between 1983 and 1985. His longest work was the serial 'Mundo de Ritos', which ran from issue 68 to 73 in Creepy. It was a Heroic Fantasy story written by Antonio Moreno. While working in the comics field Martín Demingo acknowledged being heavily influenced by Richard Corben, a fan favorite in Toutain publications at the time. In later years he has worked in the illustration field, specializing in paleontological illustration.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
