Web of Spider-Man by Cynthia Martin
Web of Spider-Man Annual, 1985

Cynthia Martin, also known as Cindy Martin, is one of the few women working in mainstream American comics. She began her career in the mid 1980s drawing 'Ms. Victory Special' for AC Comics. She then became known for her run on Marvel's 'Star Wars' title. In the 1990s she also had a memorable run on that company's 'Web of Spider-Man'.

In the early 1990s, she worked on 'Jason Goes To Hell - The Final Friday' for Topps. She also drew for the comic series 'Elvira', based on the campy television horror queen Elvira. She did the coloring on Dark Horse's 'GoGirl!' and drew for DC's 'The Blue Beetle' in 2006. Later on, she focused on illustrating early-reader "graphic biographies" for Capstone Press.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
