Martínmorales is an Andalucian cartoonist and occasional comic artist. He began his career in the 1960s, drawing for the Granada newspaper Ideal, as well as El Alcázar, Nuevo Diario, El Faro and Mundo de Barcelona. In the 1970s he was present in humour magazines like Tiempo, Mata Ratos, El Jueves, El DDT and Can Can. He created serials like 'Polícleto' and 'Casimiro, el Caco' in Chío and 'La Moncloaca' in El Jueves. He is the regular cartoonist for newspaper ABC since 1994 and a contributor to the magazine El Virus Mutante since 2004. In recent years, he has furthermore published in Inverviú and La Clave de la Opinión Pública.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
