Lawrence Marvit attended California Institute of the Arts studying animation and theatre between 1990 and 1994. He has done art on a painted short story for Paul Dini's 'Jingle Belle', published through Oni Press, and on the Eisner-nominated comic book 'Sparks - An Urban Fairytale' for Slave Labor Graphics. He has done editorial illustrations for Fabula Magazine and designs for video games by Cerny Games and Knowledge Adventure. Marvit's animation credits include Cartoon Network, Snoozeville Productions, Disney Television, Nickelodeon, Hanna-Barbara, Chuck Jones Productions, Wildbrain, Warner Bros and Hyperion Studios.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
