Stanislas, by Alain Maury
After his artistic studies at the Saint-Luc in Mons, Alain Maury began his comics career with the gag series about the musician 'Stanislas' in Spirou in 1983. He cooperated on the periodial Jouez avec Quick et Flupke at Casterman, before he turned to a career in illustration and advertising. Maury joined Studio Peyo in 1988, where he started out drawing for the magazine Schtroumpf. He cooperated with Peyo on 'Le Schtroumpf Financier' in 1992.
Johan et Pirlouit, by Maury
He eventually restarted the series 'Johan et Pirlouit' after a twenty year hiatus, while still collaborating on the albums of 'Les Schtroumpfs'. He left the studios to start his own series 'Béluga' with scriptwriter Thierry Robberecht at Casterman in 2001. In 2004, Maury and Robberecht started 'Le Contact', also at Casterman.
