Bzzz, by Micharmut

Micharmut was among the generation of artists that renewed the Spanish comics scene in the 1980s. In 1977 he and fellow artist Sento created Els Tebeus del Cingle, in which they released their first comics. Apart from his self-published works (such as 'Bzzz'), he collaborated on the magazines Papel (1978) and Bésame mucho (1980). In 1983 Micharmut started to publish more regularly in Cairo, and did such works as 'Glen Radar'. The same year he produced 'Dogón', which was his first work in book format.

Los Pobres y los Meteoro, by Micharmut (from Viñetas)

Later on Micharmut published several works at Edicions De Ponent, such as 'Veinticuatro Horas' (1995), 'La Noche de la Rata' (2001) and 'Pip' (2004) The latter was a compilation of the stories featuring the peculiar character Pip that he drew for Camacuc in the early 1990s. Throughout his career Micharmut has perseveered in his personal and experimental way of doing comics. As a result his anti-conventional works are appreciated only by a minority.
