Rosetta Stone Comics (2009)

Rebecca Migdal is a graphic novelist and an interdisciplinary artist, performer and writer working in new and traditional media. She also writes and illustrates social justice and political comedy comics, and darkly funny psycho-fantasy erotica. Migdal received her Bachelors in Studio Art in 1982 from the University of California, Santa Cruz. During the 1980s she exhibited and performed at galleries and museums across the US. From 1990-1997 she was a singer-songwriter in the New York alt-pop bands The Rubber Dahls and Clockwork Robin.

Since 1996 Migdal has been the sole proprietor of R.L.Migdal Creative Multimedia, offering digital design, animation and presentation services to a variety of clients in publishing, media and the fashion industry. She is a regular contributor to World War 3 Illustrated, a semiannual political comix magazine. She has also self-published comic books like 'Zombie Punk' (1996) and 'SubversEve' (2008). She lives in Brooklyn NYC.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
