Victor M. Mineev was born on 12 October 1959 in the city of Stavropol-on-Volga (now Togliatti). He studied painting and drawing at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the ZNUI in Moscow between 1985 and 1990. Among his teachers were Rusakovoj, Alentyeva and Veshnjakova. He has been working as an illustrator for the press and books since 1989, and has published over 7,000 graphics.
Mineev published in many periodicals of the city and its region, including the newspapers Za kommunizm (For Communism), Khronika, Ploshchad' svobody (Freedom Square), Ploshka (Saucer), Molodezhnyy aktsent (Youth Focus), Tol'yatti segodnya (Togliatti Today), Million plyus, Prezent, Prezent-tsentr (Present-center), Tol'yattinskoye obozreniye (Togliatti Review), Volzhskiy avtostroitel' (Volga carmakers), Yepifaniya (Epiphany) and Moskovskiy komsomolets, as well as the magazines Inter-Volga, My (We), Svobodnyy polet (Free Flight), Drugaya ideya (Another Idea) and TTST.
He has illustrated books with poems, historical essays and fiction by writers like Marina Shapovalova, Valentine Ovsyannikova Edward Podmarkova, Andrei Zhukov, Grigory Oster, Ellis Butler, George Moralevicha, Bruce Gansbergera, Zbynek Blueberries, Ray Bradbury, Maurice Leblanc, Robert Arthur, Clifford Simak, Robert Sheckley, etc.
He is furthermore involved in the development of corporate mascots, comics and promotional postcards. Mineev is a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia and the International Federation of Artists (IFA). He participated in more than 50 group exhibitions (including the CHA in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod) and held 10 personal exhibitions.
The work of this artist is characterized by the use of grotesque elements, accompanied by humor and philosophical overtones.
