Panagiotis Mitsobonos was born in Amfissa, Fokida, Greece, in 1958. He studied graphics at the Vacalo School of Arts (1977-1981) and painting at the Academia di Belli Arti in Florence, Italy (1982-1987). It was through his stay in Italy that he got in touch with European comic art. He has been working for comics magazine 9 and the Greek newspaper Eleftherotypia. Mitsobonos has had several solo exhibitions in Greece and Europe. His best-known comic books are 'Detective Fill Pot' and 'After Midnight and other Stories'. He lives in Athens, Greece.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop.
However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
