Comic story for Glömp

Hanneriina Moisseinen is a visual artist born in Joensuu. She studied at the School of Art and Media from Tampere Polytechnic University. She won the Nordic Comics Competition in 2006 and the Competition of Social Comics in 2007. She has participated in several solo and group exhibitions, and contributed to comic anthologies like 'Glömp'.

She has made comics based on old folktales from the Viena Karelia area, that were collected in the book 'Sen synty ja muita Vienan hävyttömiä ja hulvattomia tarinoita' in 2006. The follow-up, that was published five years later and was entitled 'Setit ja partituurit', contained more contemporary stories about embarrassing situations. More recently, she has been experimenting with comic expression by knitting and embroidering her work.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
