Albert Monteys was a member of the group La Penya, together with Álex Fito, Ismael Ferrer and José Miguel Álvarez in the 1990s. The group created magazine Mondo Lirondo and turned out its scripts and art. After that, Glénat (Spain) published a compilation of all the issues including some additional contents. Separate from La Penya, Monteys was the author of 'Calavera Lunar' in 1996. Also in the mid-1990s, Monteys became a regular contributor to humorous weekly El Jueves. There, he did the series 'Tato' and, teaming up with Manel Fontdevila, '¡Para ti, que eres joven!'. In 2004 the publisher of El Jueves launched Míster K, a magazine for younger readers. Since the first issue Monteys contributed the series 'Carlitos Fax', featuring a low-level robot in a crazy future world.
