Enfance Brisée, by Fifi Mukuna

Fifi Mukuna is a comic artist and illustrator from Congo. She is the daughter of a Zairese diplomat and went to school in Belgium. She studied Fine Arts at the Art Academie in Kinshasa and became a graphic artist. From 1990, she has published her caricatures and comics in magazines such as Le Phare, Le Palmarès, Gragnon and Africanissimo. She also contributed to 'A L'Ombre du Baobab', a collection of comics by African artists about education and health in Africa, for which she created the story 'Enfance Brisée'. Fifi Mukuna is married and mother of four, and works as a graphic designer for newspaper Le Grognon.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
