Nippur, by Sergio Mulko

Sergio Mulko was one of the most productive artist of the 'Nippur de Lagash' series, and the only artist who has worked with all the series' scriptwriters. Mulko was born in General Roco, in the Río Negro area. He began his career drawing for Editorial Columba, where he has worked with characters like 'Hjalmar', 'Espartaco', 'El Samurai', 'Sansón', 'Los Escipiones', 'El Germano', 'Troya', 'Dyinn', 'Cleopatra', 'El Humano', and of course 'Nippur'. From the late 1960s to the mid-1980s, he has also done artwork for Dante Quinterno, Thompson, Universo, Record, García Ferré, Perfil and Producciones Jaime Díaz.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
