Jukka Murtosaari was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1963. He studied to become a commercial artist, and has been doing comics professionally since 1979. He moved to the USA in the 1980s to try his luck as a cover artist and was hired by Disney. When he returned to Finland, he worked on the 'Moomin' series for a while, and did a lot of children's books illustrations. He has drawn for Swedish company's like Bonnier, Carlsen and Semic. He moved to Portugal to live with his portuguese wife in 2000.
