Thing from another world, by Ted Naifeh

Ted Naifeh has been working in comics and related fields since 1990. He has drawn for most of the big companies, such as Dark Horse, DC/Vertigo and Marvel/Epic. He worked on several self-published and unpublished projects before he got a larger readership with 'Gloomcookie' in 1998. His first work was for Innovation Comics, drawing an adaptation of the sci-fi novel 'Shadow of the Torturer'.

Courtney Crumrin, by Ted Naifeh

When the comic market somewhat deflated in the mid-1990s, Naifeh started working in video game design. After the success of 'Gloomcookie', he published 'Courtney Crumrin and the Night Things' and the subsequent mini-series 'Courtney Crumrin and the Coven of Mystics' through Oni Press. He worked with Tristan Cane on the mini-series 'How Loathsome', which was published by NBM. Other titles he has worked on are 'The Machine', 'The Thing From Another World', 'The Shadow of the Torturer', ' and 'Star Wars'. He has also drawn for the roleplaying game 'Magic: The Gathering'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
