Raymond Nicholson is a Dutch comic artist and illustrator from Helmond. The son of a British father and Dutch mother, Nicholson has ghosted most of Toon van Driel's famous soccer comic 'F. C. Knudde' after the author had sold the rights to publisher De Vrijbuiter in 1979. Nicholson has also done art on Van Driel's 'André van Duin' comic, Dupa's 'Cubitus' and comics for the German market. Nicholson has furthermore done illustrations for 'Looney Tunes' and 'Sesamstraat', and much Disney merchandise artwork, as well as the cover illustration of the German Micky Maus magazine. He has his own series of humorous greeting cards called 'Doodles'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
