Jan Nieuwenhuys was the artist of a 1945 picture booklet about our Canadian liberators in Holland. It was published as a newyear's gift by De La Mar in Amsterdam. Nieuwenhuys also drew a 1948 comic book published by the NIWIN, a healthcare organization for the Dutch in the East Indies. It was called 'Hier en Daarginds', and tells the story of a soldier and his encounters in the islands of the Dutch East Indies during the Indonesian revolution.
