Slow Storm

Danica Novgorodoff was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated in painting and photography from Yale Unviversity, was a horse trainer in Viriginia and as an English teacher in Equador. She has worked as an assistant for photographer Sally Man, is an art critic and a graphic designer. She won the Isotope Award for her first mini-comic in 2006. She was nominated for an Eisner Award for her short comic 'Brand New Love' from the Friends of Lulu anthology 'The Girl's Guide To Guys' Stuff' in the following year. She published her first graphic novel, 'Slow Storm', in 2008.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
