Nestor Olivera is an Argentine comic artist specialized in war stories. He began his career drawing for Figuritas at the age of 22. He then joined Hora Cero magazine of Editorial Frontera, where he worked with scriptwriter Hector Germán Oesterheld, among others on comics about the Vietnam war (1957). He later joined Editorial Columba, drawing series like 'Brigada Madeleine', 'Fort Apache', 'Hilario Corvalán' and 'Aquí, La Legión'. He also worked for publishers like Fleetway in Britain and Eura Editoriale in Italy. In 1970 he worked with Oesterheld again on 'Artemio, El Taxista de Buenos Aires'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
