Torben Osted had several interesting jobs after his university studies, including work at publishers and advertising agencies. He started 'Fodring Forbudt' ('Feeding Forbidden') in Politiken in 1980. He got the chance to publish in this magazine because of the space that was created due to the illness of Henning Gantriis. After the return of Gantriis, Osted had to wait until 1986 before he could continue his series at Interpresse publishers. That same year, he took over the series 'Quark' from Kim Annweiler in B.T. (the Danish weekly which later became 'Minced Nineties'). Torben Osted stopped drawing 'Quark' in 1994 and began the series 'Skæve vinkler' ('Crooked Angels'), which was later renamed to 'Den skøre familie' ('The Crazy Family'), about a not-so-ordinary family. Torben Osted has also worked on the Danish version of Mad magazine. He is a member of the Gimle studios.
