Hollywood Johnny, by Jim Pabian

Jim Pabian was a funny animal artist at Dell/Western from the 1940s to 1956. Prior to his comics career, he was an animator (1930s). He has done Disney comics, such as 'Bambi & Thumper' and 'The Flying Mouse', as well as Walter Lantz comics with 'Andy Panda' and MGM stories with 'Benny the Burro' and 'Little Dinky'. His daily credits include 'Hollywood Johnnie', 'Screen Girl' (1945-1948) and 'Go Go Gruver' (1959). He has done animation work for Disney, and he was an animation director and writer for US Army military training films. His brother, Tony Pabian, was also a comics artist.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
