Born in Buenos Aires, Lino Palacio graduated in architecure and initiated his career as a caricaturist under the pseudonym "Flax". For a long time, he was the cover designer of the children's magazine Billiken. His most popular comic creations include 'Ramona', created for the daily La Opinión, the autocaricatural character 'Don Fulgencio' for La Prensa (1932), 'Doña Tremebunda', and 'Tripudio'. Palacio moved over from La Prensa to La Razón in 1943. During the second World War, he made pacifist illustrations for several publications. He created his most famous character in 1946, 'Avivato'. The character was also features in a movie and got its own magazine.
