Gureumeulbeoseonan Dalcheoreom, by Park Heung-yong

Park Heung-yong is a Korean comics artist, who made his debut in 1981 with 'The Swirl'. A year later, he won a prize with 'The Song of a Prince'. Graphically, he tries to show movement and speed as a fixed image, such as in 'Gureumeulbeoseonan Dalcheoreom' ('Like the Moon is Moving Away from the Clouds'). His comic 'My Blue Saver' ranks as one of the best in Korean comics history. Starting in varying genres in the early 1980s, Park Heung-yong drew educational comics from the late 1980s. In 2001, he started his 'His Country' series, about a man who through coincidence can avoid a huge catastrophe.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
