Wies Peleman studied at the Royal Academy of Mechelen. He is a well-known Flemish cartoonist, who has published in De Standaard, Vooruit, De Post and Ons Volk. He released the cartoon book 'Zonder Woorden' at Editions Bogard in 1965. He regularly made illustrations for the Standaard supplement Pats in the 1960s. He also contributed cartoons and gag pages to the magazine. Most of these gag pages were independent stories, but Peleman also drew comics like 'Meneer Kommix & Strip', 'Pim en Pom in de Zoo', 'Prietpraat Ballon' and 'Adam aan Zee'. In later years, Peleman focused on ceramics.
