Since his childhood, Guoliang Peng liked art and especially cartoon art. Among other comic strips for young children, Peng's 'Little Dog Guaiguai' was one of the most popular. In the early 1990s, 'Little Dog Guaiguai' was adapted into a television series. The 6.000 drawings done for this series were also published in five volumes by Beijing Normal University Press in 1996. In addition, Peng has created many other comic strips, including 'Little Taotao', 'Doggy Officer' and 'Small Fox with Big Feet'.
