David Petersen is a comic artist from Michigan. He has studied at the Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan, and at Eastern Michigan Univesity, where he got his degree in Fine Arts. He is the creator of 'Mouse Guard', a comic series about medieval knights, territorial differences and war from a mouse perspective, published by Archaia Studios Press from 2006. The series has earned him the 2007 Russ Manning Award for Most Promising Newcomer, and Eisners for Best Publication for Kids ('Mouse Guard Fall 1152' & 'Winter 1152') and Best Graphic Album - Reprint ('Mouse Guard Fall 1152' hardcover) in 2008.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
