Ceausescu si Leana in iad

Bucharest-based artist Bogdan Petry published his first caricatures in 1990. He studied Fine Arts and subsequently worked in animation for many years. He spent a year in the USA and started to contribute drawings and caricatures to Romanian publications like Academia Caţavencu upon his return. Between 2002 and 2007 he drew four small-format comic books in which he gave his satirical view on the Romanian politicians and jet-set. These books, published with 30,000 copies each, are the highest circulating comics in Romania after the fall of communism in 1989. Petry also made monthly comics spread for the magazine Maxim in 2006 and 2007.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
