L'Anneau des 7 Mondes, by Matteo Piana

After his studies at the artistic grammar school, Matteo Piana attended the Scuola d'Arte Applicata all'Industria in Milan. He got his degree in 1997. He began his career drawing for Corriere della Serra and at the Pastori studios. He joined Bonelli in 1999, where he illustrated the series 'Napoleone'. He teamed up with writers Giovanni Gualdoni and Gabriele Clima, with whom he started the series 'Amradel' in 2001. In 2003, they launched 'L'Anneau des 7 Mondes' ('L'Anello dei Settemondi') at the French publisher Les Humano├»des Associ├ęs.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
