Ole Pihl's first album was published in 1978, and it received good reviews. 'Leif i forstaden' ('Life in the Suburbs') is a realistic description of the everyday life of youths in a gray suburban housing project. Pihl started his series 'Reporterne' ('The Reporters') in 1984, in collaboration with Claus Korsgaard. In this series, he criticized the sensation-hungry journalists of the morning papers.
Ole Pihl is an artist who likes to experiment with the comic medium. He experiments in story-telling, like in the poetic 'Slangens bud', as well as in artwork, like 'Mozart i vinden' ('Mozart in the Wind'), for which Pihl used a scratch-board technique.
