Taanoki, by François Plisson

François Plisson had two childhood passions: music and painting. At first he pursued musical studies, until 1979, then at age 18 he began focusing on his other passion, painting. He eventually became a professional painter, specializing in fantastic art and animal paintings. In the following years, Plisson created posters and did projects in the animation and theatre fields.

In 1985 he created his first comic character, 'Tristan', together with scenarist Hélène Cornen. Albums of the series were published by Dargaud. Plisson and Cornen continued their comics activities with 'Orchidée' for Soleil in 1995. In January 2000 the first issue of the 'Taanoki' series appeared, for which Plisson worked with the scenarist Jéromine Pasteur. In 2002, he worked with Franz on 'Akaara' for the publisher Nukléa.
