Opdracht in de Jungle (Ohee, 3/10/1970)

Sylvain Polfliet studied at the Academy of Dendermonde. He made his debut together with Hector Leemans in 1969. They created the secret agent 'Brian Howell' in the Belgian newspaper Het Volk. Polfliet continued the series on his own after three episodes, and continued it in the 1970s and 1980s in both Het Volk and Het Gazet van Antwerpen. Stories of 'Brian Howell' have also appeared in Ohee, as well as five albums published by Loempia. Polfliet has additionally published various short stories in Ohee, Spirou and Tintin. He returned to comics after many years with 'Lebbeke. Kerk van O.-L.-Vrouw Geboorte 1108-2008', a comic for the yearbook of the Heemkring Lebbeke in cooperation with writer Achiel Vermeiren in 2008.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
