Joël Polomski was born in La Marne, but lives in Quercy, near Figeac. He works as a teacher and comic artist. He has produced several comics based on local history, including 'Voyage', 'Cahier d'Essai', 'Autres Contes', 'La Fondation de Figeac', 'Champollion, Héritier du People Kagoth' (with Gilles Faltrept, 1990), 'Les Extraordinaires Aventures d'Emile Adiou, Paysan du Quercy' (Palette, 1995) and 'Le Disparu de Saint-Cirq-Lapopie'. His albums 'Le Diable du Pont Valentré' and 'Le Diable du Gouffre de Padirac' are based on 'Légendaire du Quercy' by Robert Martinot.
