Justin de Montparnasse by Bogdan Prejoianu
Justin de Montparnasse

Bogdan Prejoianu was 16 years old when won the second prize during a contest held by Cutezătorii magazine. His comic story 'Cuiul' was published in the magazine's annual in 1982. He put his comic activities on hold to pursue his studies with the Polytechnic Institute in Bucharest. He returned to the field in 1990 with the short story 'Superstiţia', that was published in Carusel.

In the following year, he published his Valérian-inspired science-fiction comic 'Popas pe tărâmul celălalt' in Universul Copiilor. He eventually became a regular artist with Carusel, creating his Parisian gentleman burglar 'Justin de Montparnasse' and drawing portraits of the magazine's collaborators until the magazine's disappearance in 1992.

Prejoianu was subsequently present in the children's supplement 'Mini Azi' with 'Justin' reprints in 1993 as well as 'Popas pe tărâmul celălalt' in 1996. He left the field of comics shortly afterwards.
