Olivier Quéméré got his education at the School of Graphical Research in Brussels, where he got his degree in 1999. Interested in independent comics, he got his interest in comics through the avantgarde publisher Futuropolis. After completing his education, he published his first book, 'Au Bistrot', at the publishing house Pyramides. This book got the praise of the critics, and was followed by 'A Freud! Sales et Méchants' in 2001. His work was also published in alternative reviews like Frigobox and Bille Noire, as well as the collective Self Service. In addition, he has done illustration work for J'ai Lu and Libération. Originally from Britton, settled in Toulouse in 2002, where he went to work for the Requins Marteaux. He took part in several exhibitions, like Supermarché Ferraille.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
