Steamy Raimon was born Lawrence Raimonda in Brooklyn, NY, and studied at the School of Visual Arts. He is a US Navy veteran, who held careers as a management analyst, creative director, and art sales representative, among others. He published his first cartoons in Saturday Review in 1976. He then became a regular contributor for Easyriders, Biker, Dragon and other magazines.

He has also contributed to Hustler Humor, Writer's Digest (multipanel cartoons in the early 1980s) and New Witch ('The Pagan Pit' cartoon series). His comic strip, 'Red Light-Green Light' (published in Taxi and Limo Drivers Guide), and his single-panel feature, 'Smiles For Miles' (Tripsheet) were the only regularly published cartoons in the world on the transportation industry's limousine and taxicab services.

Besides being published in many mainstream and men's magazines, his work has appeared in ads, in books, on websites, and on merchandise.
