Aapo Rapi is a comic artist from Helsinki. He is a member of the Kutikuti collective (with Marko Turunen, Tommi Musturi and Matti Hagelberg) and has contributed to the collective's tabloid comic newspaper Kuti. It is a story set in the early 20th century about a factory owner's son who does not share his father's values and instead campaigns for Marxism among the workers.

His self-published book 'Meti' (2008) tells the memoires of his grandmother. Among Rapi's other books are 'Salchov' (1999), 'Kelomökkien Mies' (2006), 'Kuningas Toffee' (2008) and 'Naaburger' (2009). In addition to his comics and illustration work, Aapo Rapi teaches courses in comic art for children.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
