Mike Ratera studied art at the Escola Massana in Barcelona in the late 1970s. He co-founded Zero Comics in 1981, a fanzine that published the first works of artists like Miguelanxo Prado, Pascual Ferry and Das Pastoras. Ratera has published in a variety of international magazines, such as Rambla, El Víbora, Makoki, Totem, Creepy, Comix Internacional and Spécial Zembla.
