The Dragon Flag (The Victor #136)

Ted Rawlings, born Richard Terry Rawlings, was a comic book artist working mainly for D.C. Thomson. Born in London near the Tower Bridge, Rawlings first job was with a bank and he served in the RAF during World War II. He went to work for D.C. Thomson after winning an art competition in 1955. He illustrated 'Dixie's Box o'Tricks' in The Topper (1956-57). He was present in The Victor with 'Solomon Stark', 'The Red MacGregor', 'The Hammer Man', 'Chell Puddock' and a couple of 'Alf Tupper' strips. He also did most of the illustrations for text stories published in The Victor Annuals. He passed away in Dundee in August 2010.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
