Le Corbusier

Frédéric Rébéna, born in Clermont, studied Decorative Arts in Paris and made his first comic pages for À Suivre in 1989. As an illustrator for children's publications, he has worked with Marie Nimier, Renaud, Sylvie Granotier, Zidrou, Moka, Gudule and Joseph Périgot for publishers like Hatier, Albin Michel, Seuil, Nathan and Hachette. He is known for revising the universe of Enyd Blyton's 'Club des Cinq'. He has additionally done designs for albums covers for artists like Boby Lapointe, Renaud and Charles Trenet. In 2009, he published a comic adaptation of Jérôme Charyn's 'Marilyn La Dingue' with Denoël Graphic. In 2010 he created 'Le Corbusier' with Thévenet for the publishing house Dupuis.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
