John Stuart Reid, Bastiaan Geleijnse and Jean-Marc van Tol are the fathers of 'Fokke & Sukke', a cartoon about a duck and a canary. Together, they come up with the gags, which are then drawn by Van Tol. The three friends started their cartoons during their study in Amsterdam, for the famous student magazine Propria Cures. Fokke and Sukke soon gained popularity for their wacky, sometimes crude observations. Currently, the cartoon is published in many different papers and magazines, and several albums have been published, including 'Fokke & Sukke hebben altijd wat', 'Fokke & Sukke zien het echt niet', 'Fokke & Sukke zijn weer thuis' and 'Fokke en Sukke komen er niet uit'. In 2003, the three won the Stripschapprijs.
