Ripley's Believe it or Not, by Ed Robbins

Ed Robbins was a Golden Age artist, who worked for nearly all the big comic publishers from the 1940s to the 1970s. He is best known for his work on the 'Mike Hammer' daily comic, based on the work of novellist Mickey Spillane, in the early 1950s. His earliest comic work appeared in Marvel Mystery Comics in the 1940s, and during the following decades, he drew mainly mystery and war stories for DC ('G.I. Combat'), Dell/Gold Key (Boris Karloff Tales of Mystery, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Grimm's Ghost Stories, Twilight Zone) and Archie Comics (Shield-Wizard Comics).

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
