Gilles Rochier knew he wanted to become a comics artist after discovering the magazine Métal Hurlant. A self-taught artist, he started out painting and drawings comics. His fanzine Envrac was born in September 1996. In this fanzine, he published his own personal comics. The publishing house 6 Pieds Sous Terre eventually published a collection of his work in the album 'Envrac' (2002). In 2005, he created 'Dernier Étage' for the same publisher. Rochier has also contributed to small reviews like Stéréocomic, Mycose and Jadeweb.
