De Wonderlijke Reizen van Meelmuts en Roetkop, by O. Roland

O. Roland was the artist of the newspaper comic 'De Wonderlijke Reizen van Meelmuts en Roetkop', that ran in the Dutch newspapers Haagsche Courant and Algemeen Handelsblad in 1923 and 1924. This strip, about a little cook's mate Meelmuts and his negro friend Roetkop, also appeared in 3 books published by Jacob van Campen. The texts were on rhyme by Max.

Roland has also illustrated 'Pilletje en Paaltje in Trefferland' in a promotional issue of Algemeen Handelsblad and 'De Speurtochten van Koos en Toos naar hun Tante' in Algemeen Handelsblad, both in 1924.
