Herman Roozen is a Dutch comic artist and writer. Between 1988 and 1994, he published the strip 'De Morinel' in the farmer's magazine Ons Platteland, which was succeeded by 'Stekkel' in 1995. Roozen produces comic strips for company magazines and newsletters like Jellinek Journaal ('Jelle'), Microsoft's TechNet newsletter ('TechEddie'), and the staff magazine of a power company ('Wendy en Wilco').

In 2004, he succeeded Henk Groeneveld as the artist of 'Opa' in Boerderij. In 2007 and 2008, he published his strip 'Eefenement' in Algemeen Dagblad. Roozen is furthermore a prolific scriptwriter for 'Dirkjan' (Mark Retera), 'Jan, Jans en de Kinderen' (Studio Jan Kruis), 'Meneer Foutjes' (Mars Gremmen), 'Kort en Triest' (Jean-Marc van Tol), 'Okki' (Dirk van Dulmen) and Dutch Disney stories, among other comics.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
